The 292 bellhousing is angled mounted to the crossmember. will just a 1954 - 1955 crossmember work or can i use a crossmember up to the late sixty? I know there riveted in. I was thinking of cutting the rivets out and bolting it back in | | | | | Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 3,596 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 3,596 | I am unsure of the 292 fit requirements but can speak to the 54' crossmember in a 47-53 truck. I put this crossmember into my 50' with a 54' 235 and it is pretty simple. You grind the rivets off the early one and the 54' version will only require a small amount of hole reaming to fit.
