Their scientific statements/claims are at the least misleading and some are inaccurate. I also question the ability of an enzyme to inhibit formation of gum and varnish.

At least a few of their other products appear to be repackaged examples of other companies' products. Their moisture absorber has exactly the same size and shape container as "Damp-Rid", and I'll bet there's a healthy markup involved in the relabeling process. Ditto for most of the other "boat care" products they sell. Is P.T. Barnum still alive? Jerry

Lincoln, love the metaphors...
I can explain it to you, I can't understand it for you.

I did a lot of looking at the reviews, and there were a few other discussion forums with this as a topic. It seems all the comments were positive, whatever that means. I was just wondering if anyone else had heard of it. | | | | | Joined: Aug 2013 Posts: 568 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Aug 2013 Posts: 568 | Is sea-foam comparable? My neighbor swears by that stuff.

I use it in all the small engines around the farm that only get run intermittently, and in the motorcycles my son and I run. It prevents at least most of the alcohol-additive nightmares untreated gasoline causes, especially in engines that get stored over the winter. Like any other fuel or oil additive, it's not a cure-all, but it seems to work well for its primary purpose of keeping gasoline from going stale. Jerry

Best bet for long term storage is using 100% gasoline. We are lucky to have a couple of stations in the area that carry pure premium 91 octane gasoline. I fill up with it mid October, which can carry me over till spring if I don't drive to much. My truck is in a garage that stays 45 to 50 degrees, so that may account for some of the long term storage with out problems. I am also using two W-1 carbs, which are cast iron, so no worries about aluminum or pot metal damage.

Jerry Does Mystery Oil have similar fuel stabilizing properties to Sea Foam? A quick internet search provides divergent opinions. I have some MMO, but do not have a can of sea foam, and do have need to treat some gas that might sit a while.

The best penetrant for valve guide deposits is KROIL, in my decidedly biased opinion. "Your mileage may vary!" Jerry
