1948 2 ton Chevy truck ,216 babit pounder -Ex fire truck 23,000 miles with 8 x 12 flatbed
Well after my 4930 mile trip GA to AZ and back this summer ,my BIGBOLT was itchen to get back on the road again . So after a couple of 19 degree mornings in my tiny camper and an offer from a friend to paint his house in Florida off I went .
I left Kennesaw GA late Tues night 11/25/14 and set out on I-75 south. At 45 mph on 75 is a bit scary but I was hoping for a bit of rush hour slow down ,well for some reason this did not accrue and was smooth sailing through Atlanta . Luck would have it I found a great route that worked well for my truck and I would be on I-75 only 114 miles . When I got to Macon GA I took I-16 east then got off at exit 6 which is US 23 south perfect smooth road that headed straight to Jacksonville FL and dumps you out on I-95 . In Jacksonville only a few miles of I-95 and I exited to US 1 ,13.9 hours total I was at a friends house in Melbourne FL 534 miles ,grabbed a shower and slept a few hours . Then I was off to my brothers for the night 599.9 miles total when I arrived in Port St Lucie .
Next day at the crack of dawn I was off to my friends house in North Palm Beach for Thanksgiving dinner that couldn't be beat.
Still can't believe the dump was closed on thanksgiving .
My 20 8x10 color glossy photos with pictures and arrows on the back will be posted at a later date .
(Arlo Guthrie fans will understand the above joke)

Last weekend I had the truck in the Marines TOYS FOR TOTS motorcycle bike run they were happy to have me there ,I was put in behind the last bike out about 300-400 bikes . I'll stay down here for a bit .Already put the bigbolt to work .Haulin gravel for the house I'm working on .
Well I wish the people who acknowledge Christmas like me ,that it may be peaceful and happy . And for all others may this Holiday season be a peaceful and happy for you also .
