Hi folks...
I think this is the right area for this, if not... apoligies .

The driver's side vent window glass on my '65 C10, is 'popping out' at the bottom....

from looking at the pass. side, it seems there is a small stud, or pivot point that is attached to the frame that surriounds the vent glass... then sticks down into a hole thru the rubber gasket, into the frame part that bolts to the door itself... then the vent glass can twist open.

It seems that the piece of metal, that is supposed to be attached the the frame of the vent glass, is lodged in the hole. in the frame that is bolted to the door...

So, the question is... if I get a professional to weld the piece of metal - back to the vent glass frame... is that all it will require?

Also, exactly how does the vent window glass go back into the frame that mounts to the door, after it is fixed?

I imagine I will have to take the window and so forth out... as well as the frame that bolts to the door that holds the vent glass... I have to take the main glass out anyway to replace the plastic rollers, so I figured I would do all of this at once.

Your post is ancient, and you've probaby moved on, unless you are like me and have put off fixing the vent window pivot for 14 months...my 65 has the same problem. I saw in LMC catalogue they sell those pins...I am about to order one for mine. I IMAGINE the old one that rusted off needs to be driven out of the vent frame. I have no clue how to remove the glass or get it back in, but it will likely be evident as the job progresses...I hope. I am pretty sure the 65 manual (supplement) shows removal of vent window...and that silly 1960-66 Chevy Truck Assemble manual probably has some hard to decipher diagram. best of luck-Jerry Mann
