Hello,I was looking for a 1.5 ton for my business when I answered an ill prepared ad and instead ended up picking up a early 1947 1 ton dually.

It was originally titled as a stake bed and spent its life confined to a farm in upper Michigan,in 1996 it made its way to fla and the last time it was tagged.

It was listed as a complete truck which was what first drew my attention,we know how that goes.It was complete except for the missing parts. At some time a po removed the cab and reworked the frame and cab bottom and did most of the body work.I think they lost the steering wheel because it rests on the drivers seat and looks like a model A straight column.

I got it running after bringing her home but gear shift will not go into gear but it does have all the engine shields in place and came with many extra parts that are not needed.

It has no stake bed now but I will construct one for her and she will be put back to work daily as she was designed for and be hauling equipment for me.

So even after reading most of all of the posts here I do have some questions to ask .

Welcome to the STovebolt, 46oneton. It may have some problems but it sure looks pretty straight as for the body. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

Your at the right place. Heck, there's even a forum for one tons. Just ask your questions in the best forum and members will help you out. Great folks here and tons of knowledge!
See ya around the garage.....and oh, watch for other bolters in your area. Fla. has quite a few bolters and some may live just down the road.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile

Welcome 46oneton. Where in Florida do you live?

I have a 38 1 ton.

We have several other Stovebolters scattered throughout the state.

Your truck looks like a great starting canvas.

Hello and thanks for the welcome,I am in Tampa now after spending 30 years in Orlando,I have to many projects in the garage over there so I figured the best way to have room was to buy more land so I kinda go back and forth.

I am adding the first question in the one ton forum,I have a list but it has been cold by Fl standards so not much done in the past couple of days and next week it's off to the turkey rod run in Daytona, maybe I will find some bits and pieces.

Richard
