Hi everyone. I'm new to the board. I just picked up a 1952 Chevy 3600 and was looking for a group to help answer question I may have as I work on my project.

So here my first question. Is my truck worth saving. The frame looks good, the motor turns over. The body is very rough. The cab floor is junk, the firewall is junk, the cab corner are made of bondo, and that's all I can tell so far, so I'm sure it get worse. Short of buying all new body parts, is this truck worth saving? I will try and link a few photos so people could voice their opinion.

I do have a background in metal working. 15 years as a machinist with some fabricating skills. Most of my welding experience is tig welding aluminum.

Thanks everyone.

Hey Matt. Welcome to the Stovebolt. Took one look at your picture and thought your in for some fun, frustrations and success. Just work on it a little every day. As little as 15 minutes a day will add up.
The AD's all seem to be "bad" in the same places. Lots of aftermarket stuff to help you along the way. Many, many of us have put in floor pans, complete side cowls and the list goes on and on. Tackle it one project at a time.

An a tip.....post all your questions in the most appropriate forum. Engine in Engine Forum, Driveline in the Driveline Forum, paint in Paint and Body. That way you will get more and better results. Everyone doesn't check in here in the welcome centre every time they log in.
Good luck. We're here to help.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile

Every one of these trucks I've seen has had bad cab corners, floor boards, cab mounts, etc. Other than the usual rust issues, your truck looks straight and unmolested. That's better tnan some of us has started with. Is it worth saving? Yep, just like all the rest.
