just tooting my horn. customer from MN wanted a custom dump bed for his 1954 truck(one ton) based off of my original 1952 design. so with a few dimensional modifications this is what I came up with. (click on my website - under current projects)
(not trying to advertise here, just easier to load them on my site).
Not the color(ocean green) I would have painted the bed, but that is what he wanted. he is going to install the wood himself. glad to share how I did it and answer questions.

I'm not into big trucks, but the bed sure looks sturdy enough. As it appears that modern dump beds are your business also, is the hydraulics on this rig custom or adapting something current? Nice work.

no, the PTO pump and cylinders were on the truck(original 1954?) when he brought it to me. I went through the system and beefed up the mount points though. I would have used a scissor hoist with electric pump. he had a local(MN) tractor restorer do the cab/chassis-he was not impressed with the results. especially when the paint on the bed was a better finish.(his words)

Daren,
I am no expert on beds by any means but I had the pleasure of restoring the bed on my COE. I know how challenging it can be to incorporate existing lift hardware and correcting previous mistakes when bringing an old bed back to life. Very nice job.
