on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Oct 2014 Posts: 34 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Oct 2014 Posts: 34 | Hello everyone!!!! Im excited to join the community. Alittle background on my project I will be starting this winter. I am 36 yrs old now and as a kid we helped my dad haul wood in his 51 GMC 3600. The last time i remember it running or even given the time of day was when I was in 8th grade, and it has set since then behind the barn. Fast forward 25 yrs and im interested in getting an old gm truck to drive. I look around for a truck that is already complete and drivable. A few calls were made to sellers of decent trucks with no success. And while talking to my dad about the journey of looking for a truck to buy he asks if i just want his 51. I know he never did anything with it but didnt think he would ever part with it. So after talking about it and getting the background on it, my dads grandpa actually bought it new in 1951 and when my dad was 24 he bought it off of him and has had it every since. So needless to say i cant go out and buy anything different, this truck needs to be back on the road. So im pretty excited to get started this winter. Thanks for your time and all the help that im sure everybody will be giving.
