Could someone give me a starting point to check,so I can possibly find out why my radio quit working? It is in my grain truck and I cannot seem to find out what the problem is. The radios an original GM with slide tuner bar for AM and FM , in my 1979 chevy truck. I checked and am getting power, and no sound when radio is turned on or off. Pat

you've passed the starting point, you know it's getting power but it doesn't work ... the only way to find out what went wrong is to remove it and bench check it with the proper test equipment and a schematic - which is to say you need to send it to a shop or do without wink

Try checking the grounds on the radio and the antenna.
