The steering coloumn that I have was not for an auto trans or it had a floor shift. My question, what would be a good floor shift to go with, and do they all mount to the trans. I was wondering if I would have to beef up the floor. Dave

I used the trans mounted because it was much closer to the original transmission stick shift. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2000 Posts: 5,205 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2000 Posts: 5,205 | I also use the Lokar trans mounted, but not 100% happy with it. After 14 years of vibration, the cable inside rattles against the lever. Lokar suggested a couple of adjustments, but they didn't really help. A floor model will isolate any driveline vibration. Its still a vary good shifter, it has always work great, just a little noisy.

You could switch to a column shift column as another option, as these cabs don't have much room to begin with. I'm very glad I went the column shift route with my truck.
Depending on the shifter you go with will answer whether or not you need to reinforce the floor. In general I would say it won't be needed, but can't say for sure as I don't know if you're planning on running a 24" lever, in which case I might suggest reinforcement. | | | | | Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 1,554 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 1,554 | Thanks for the help guys.
