I know Chevy's of the '40's will replace the drive gear but what is the removal directions.

Its a press fit. You can drill the hole in the body out and put in a brass bushing if that's the problem. | | | | | Joined: Nov 2011 Posts: 12 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Nov 2011 Posts: 12 | Thanks, but I'm still a little confused as to the best way to remove it so I can determine my problem.

I had mine removed but now I am in the process of getting everything to put it back together and I am at a lost.
I am also looking for some instruction on the removal of the windshield crank.
Once I figure out how to put it together, I'll follow up with what I did.

Here are some pics of what the crank out assembly looks like from under the dash. -- Pictures -- There are two bolts that hold the crank to the inner dash. I don't have the bolts so I'll get something from a hardware store or something. Mine has been hot rodded and this spring I decided I needed power steering. Well things went as I had hoped and it took most of the summer to get it going again. So, I'm driving it now until the rains come and then will try to fix it. I will take a lot of pictures. There isn't much room under the dash so it should be interesting.
