I am thinking that pretty soon it is going to need to be rebuilt. Does anyone know of a reputable rebuilder in the area and one that is familiar with the stovebolt engines?

I got Troy Robertson in Huntersville, NC to rebuild my 1954 235. He certainly knows his way around General Motors inline engines. I have not driven the engine any long distances yet, but it purrs like a kitten and does great on yard drives.

They pick up the original engine, rebuild it and bring it back. Prices are very competitive and they been in business for years. I understand they also build engines for NAPA and probably others. HotRodLincoln may know of them too. ...when the 270K engine in my Silverado pukes this is where its going. I can't rebuild it for what they can.

The name of his shop is Old Inline Power. He can build you a stock engine, or a custom engine to your order. He has several custom built engines, in his shop, that he designed and built the intake and headers himself. Troy is a great guy and does awesome work. I highly recommend him to anyone who wants a professional built engine. His shop number is 704-875-2783. Tell him Joe Kirkpatrick sent you.
