the front of the hood aligns to the grill fairly well.
the fenders are a bit tight.
i read the factory manual adjustment for 54 it's the same as the tech tip.
all the sheet metal is the same i took off and the hood used to fit.
it would seem that the hinges are too high but how could they be that far off?
the hinges are new but the match the old ones.
any ideas?
this is a 53 3\4 ton.

It can be easier to do with the springs removed (another problem can stem from putting the hinges on the wrong sides, someone told me). Did you put a 4X4 between the end of the hood and the top of hood latch? The factory manual will get you where you want to be if you carefully follow the directions. I struggled with following the directions my first time, but I finally figured out what they were trying to tell me. One tip. Leave the bolts very loose on the hood latch! The Manual tells you that if you don't, you will not be able to open the hood, without telling you what to do if this happens! I guess you are supposed to go to the dealer and buy a new truck. Or in your case, drive one of your many other classic trucks. You hoarder.  Carl

Read it several times before starting. It can get confusing, or it was for me, when reading about hinges...and springs.
My hood stuck up so back at the back it made the truck look like a COE from the front.

In a few hours he called it was ready.
