I have done a little searching on the web and on this forum but I can not find a replacement floor board, kind of confused about what works and what wont as fare as 1/2 ton or 1.5 ton or the 2 ton are they all the same are they all different.

I believe they are basically the same between small & big trucks. 3 speed and 4 speed tower locations are different as well as master cylinder fill hole location, if I am not mistaken. There was a company in Michigan making steel replacements that were pretty nice. They listed them on ebay. The parts houses offer a fiberglass replacement. Or you could make one fairly easily.

I noticed that the Chevy floor boards are way different than the GMC's in military trucks. Is that true in civilian cabs as well? Might be good info to pass around.....Rick

Most of the floor boards you find are junk as over time they were bent or cut up to access a repair. My buddy made a wooden floorboard for his 41, much better than the metal floor in my 46.

I have heard of folks making the floor boards out of wood, would be nice to see a few pictures of it. :)

I made my wife's '36 out of wood from the old beetle infested original wood ones in the truck. It was a challenge but they came out nice. Rock solid and water tight with a rubber gasket. I really had no choice.

Sorry I don't have any pics but I believe the sloped toe board is steel, then only wood is floor. Requires same openings as metal ones. I'll see if I can get some pics.

The toe pan and the floor pans are two different parts, and for the most part the civvy and the military versions are the same up till about late 42. The G506 battery was initially under the cab, inside the frame (as per the civvy truck) but was moved and the floor pan altered to remove the access hole. But there were at least 12 varients of the PAN, front, floor.

The GMC pans would have been similar, but not identical for the military versions. The location of the shifters and access holes would be the biggest difference. The overall size and shape would have been the same.

got mine for my 1941 1.5 ton fire truck with 4 speed from classic 2 custom fabrication , part number 893-440 it was $113.29
fits good haven bolted it down yet ,but the dog aint fell thru

If I were to do it over again, I would fabricate my own using your beat up floor as a template. The reproduction floor boards for a 4 speed will work with a little trimming and altering.

If I had the old one I would do that but the PO removed it at some point and I did not get it with the truck I hate it to because I would bet that it was in pretty good shape seeing how the rest of the truck is in decent shape.

Here was my take on this when I was in your current situation. If I remember correctly, I got my floor board off of ebay for ~$95.

I just purchased a new steel floorboard off e-bay for my '46. The e-bay store is called classicparts4u. They also have toe boards and other items as well. I hope this helps you out.

I believe the classicparts4u floor board is the one I got as well. It works, but some adjustments will be needed.
