Any idea if anything in front of the radiator has to be removed to swap a cam in a 60-66 pickup with V8? Do the radiator support cross pieces get in the way?

Its been a long time since my brother and I did one but I don't think they are a problem. Get the other stuff out of the way and I think it'll come out... I THINK. (and that's dangerous)

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.

If they do, I can maybe tilt the engine a bit by loosening a mount. I just hope to avoid the cross pieces since they are riveted in.

Measure with a tape measure from the timing chain cover to the radiator support,If that measurement is longer than the engine , the cam will come out without a problem.

Without disassembling the front of the engine, it's too close to call. Oh well, I'll find out!

The truck is in for body work and paint. I won't get it back for at least another month. Then my fun begins again. I have to install the bed wood (I have it milled and sealed), the cam, new heads, serpentine drive, underhood Vintage Air components, and the interior insulation and mats. Then it's done.

Thanks James,

It's a SoCal truck that has been in the family since about '69. We had it shipped here about 10 months ago. Been working on it since.
