Hello All,

Has anyone adapted hazard lights to their original wiring in a task force truck? My goal is to keep existing equipment and just add a switch. I'd rather not use a Yankee or Signal Stat setup if I can avoid it. I found a diagram that employs two relays and I would need to activate the turn signal then turn on the hazard switch. I only want to use one relay for double duty and use the hazard independent of the turn signal. I am a novice when it comes to electrical so figuring out this one is past my level of understanding.
Has anyone done this or have any insight?

Thanks in advance

not sure you can do it the way you want, the sig-stat type hazards work by changing connections internally when you pull the button so power goes to all 4 lights, otherwise you do need 2 flashers .... here's the factory signal wiring schematic - you'd need to splice into the wires to the 4 corners in a way that there would be no feed-thru during normal operation .... or you could look for a FlareStat [by SignalStat] 105 kit like this that adds a separate hazard function, show upon eBay regular - still needs to be spliced in to the existing system

Bill,

Thanks for the info you gave me an idea, I can live with a second flasher. I have a Flarestat in case my idea fails. I will post my results as soon as I get it all tied down.

My plan is to get a male and female connector to use as a pass through so I won't affect my harness if I want to remove it. In between the male and female I will splice in my switch and leads to the directional wiring.
