guy has one for sale local and I was wondering what kind of value they have.
its original and patina. not restored.
good condition.
run/driver/registered.
looks complete.

hes asking 30k... seems high for what i seen in past but I cant find one to compare.

they are rare and a good original is prolly rarest - if that's his bottom line, then it's either worth that to you or it isn't. watch awhile and see if it sells

Well, make sure it's not a "clone" made from a panel or suburban. I have see some. I don't know what the correct serial numbers are but that has to be correct and/or a physical check by someone who really knows them. If it's real and in good shape and all there....It does not seem to be worth 30. Not even close!... From a five minute web search: 1950 good patina, complete $8800 negotiable, 1941 frame off resto, $16,900. One here at Barrett-Jackson, which was show quality original, sold for a little more than that 30K in 2013. But the cost to get it there would have been not far behind. The year you are talking will make a fair amount of difference. To me, patina means old paint, faded, with a little surface rust maybe and a bullet hole or two. Don't know what it means to you. Seems like with that website of yours that you have the resources/knowledge to price it?

one time I saw what was sort of a clone but not really.
it had been imported very recently from south america and had either come like that, been modified in the original era or was a bastard original.
got pics somewhere.

pretty sure I could spot a fake. lady says shes had it for 30 years and selling to buy house. I own and have seen enough of panels and trucks and burbs to think I could know the difference.

im not buyin for 25k.... think I remember seeing one of the auctions in money times getting 100k for one but thats auction fever in a free-money time... not now...

patina on this one is OEM faded paint in very good condition.
its a 1952.

yeah-told wife that she was probably off by 15k at the least...

the upcoming auction one has a story behind it of the owner spending over 50k in parts and purchase to get it to what it is.

Pretty decent one here in Salt Lake was recently offered at $12k.

The 2013 is the one I posted. Don't forget that's with buyers premium and as you said, a hyped auction for sure, with drinking rich guy bidders.

yeah the barrett site said the totals listed included premium which is 10-12%
so knock 10% of posted price to get what people think they were paying(most people forget there's a premium in the heat of "battle")

Unrestored with patina is about the same for a unrestored suburban of the same year. People ask for more, but they sit for a long time.One of the postings you posted originally sold for around $18,000 and the guy went to Barrertt Jackson and got around $42,000. I sold one last year for $4500 and now the guy is asking $16,000, it's still the same rust bucket that I sold him with a few more trinkets and running. i doubt that he will get the money unless someone from out of state buys ist without seeing it up close.

The current Old Cars Price GUIDE says a #4 is worth $5400 and a #3 is 12,150 for a half ton.

From your description I'd say it is not a #3 for sure but perhaps better than a #4 (close to a #4) so somewhere between that range is probably a fair price....that's quiet a range but condition is everything....and how bad you want it.

...the fact that she had "nobody replied" is good for you. I had the same situation on a vehicle and was able to negotiate down half the asking price..hopefully you will have good luck. We're riding with you.

the price-WAYYYYY over reality.
it had been hit and repaired(sortof) in the LF corner in the past, it was 'clean' but not perfect and she was asking 25k-they go at auction fever Barret fully restored for under 50k....

this needed 20k of restoration(or more) and in this economy-I would not expect to reach the 30k value....
