I put Line X on my running boards, on both sides, also on the under side of my fenders. looks great and keeps the rock chips down. root

I like truck bed liner on the running boards so I or a passenger can step on it and it doesn't show scratches. I also have it on the steering wheel and accelerator pedal. The purists probably won't like that but it gives them a good gripping surface. I have chip guard on the underside of the hood and fenders.

The rattle can spray on bed liner isn't anywhere near as durable as the catalyzed stuff body shops use for actual truck beds but it is cheaper! A textured powder coat would be another option.

I saw a truck the other day with bedliner sprayed on all the way up to the windows on a later model truck. Too bad they didn't do it underneath because it didn't stop the rust.

I painted the raised strips on the bed steps of my '65 C10 with Rustoleum undercoating. Since only the raised strips are painted the color of the truck is still there, but you get slip resistance too.

Here's a couple photo's:

Why Rustoleum Undercoating? I painted a portion of my step bumper on my daily driver with the Rustoleum undercoating about 3 years ago. It has held up very well.
