I'm guessing it's very early or not truck at all. Anyone!

I have seen pics of 53-54 Vettes with these used with a different top, but cannot see the bottom side. For years the Vette collectors would buy up the truck units to use. 53 Vettes used three flame arrestor type, next year two like these, but feeding the three carbs.
Also I believe the dark decal is an earlier version. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 3,596 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 3,596 | May be on to something with the Corvette application. Did a little research and it seems like it was a late 54' application? Also makes sense due to clearance issues on the vette. I bet the pictured set-up below especially if it was limited application run is a fairly rare item. https://www.flickr.com/photos/advance-design_parts_co/14258907690/in/set-72157631868452754The decal may indicate it was sourced from existing parts bins for the Corvette as they took parts from all kinds of stuff for the early ones. It may have been used in another application finding out exactly which one is the puzzle piece. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2000 Posts: 2,074 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2000 Posts: 2,074 | Appears even this display motor has the truck air cleaners, top and bottom. I know for sure the 54 vette units used a smooth top. Believe I've seen this engine in the past poss. GM display piece. Does anyone know where to get a replica of that decal? | | |
