The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Driveline Help! Transmission/clutch issue

So I took out my transmission and drive shaft about a year ago in order to upgrade to an NV4500 and then life got in the way (baby and all that that incurs ).

Anyway, we are moving at the end of the month and I just put the original transmission back in to button everything up. Problem is is that it feels as if the clutch is engaged, even in neutral.

I used the old clutch disc and pressure plate as the truck shifted great before I took it apart. I got a new throw-out bearing because I left the old one out and it got ugly.

I can see the linkage "bucking" when I try to start the truck and see the transmission rotate even though I am in neutral. What could cause this issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Is the disc in backwards? It could be interfering if installed backwards.

Did you compare the new throw out bearing to the new one to make sure it was the correct length?

Just got back to the house after church and shopping (Sunday is our grocery day as it is the only day we go to the "city")

I'm removing the transmission now. I think I might of put the friction plate on backwards.

I'm pretty sure they are the same length, I already threw out the throwout bearing.

Okay, the friction plate is installed correctly, it looks like the TO is hitting the pressure plate. I have a 3 finger BW. From what I found, I might have the wrong TO bearing. Off to the parts store. Thanks everyone.

Side note, my fork retaining spring just broke when I was pullung the transmission out again so this will have to wait till Wednesday now.

Thanks for the offer, but it looks I need the shorter one. Luckily, advance auto parts had one in stock, go figure.

I have some NOS retaining springs if you want one.
