Hey All,
I've always been a car guy. There are tons of old cars here on Long Island but I find very few 50'thru 60's trucks in comparison. I have a '61 Chevy Apache step LWB with original 235 JC code, 4 speed, 390 posi rear. As best as I can access its a very original truck including engine, trans, rear, oil bath, air cleaner, radiator, horns, steel wheels, intake and exhaust manifolds.
Previous owner claimed the motor has never been out of the truck. It has original 68,000 miles per titles and originally an Idaho truck. Dealer name plate on back of car.
Great to be in the truck nation.
John

Welcome John, nice when it's mostly original. Did the previous owner purchase it new? Have fun with it.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile

Welcome from the south part of the Island. Very true 60/50s trucks are tough to find around here. I'm sure that what is here was all imported from out west and what came from here rusted away. Most of what I found for sale here when I was looking as rough rust buckets.

Hey 59

Do you go to Captree on Sunday mornings. I was there two weeks ago and there must have been 600+ cars but only two 50s/60s trucks. If you go you wont be hard to spot.
