We had this truck on a farm near King City,CA. I started driving it at age 8 around the farm; sold out & left farm in '68, I found the truck in '77 w/ bad rod knock. Bought it cheap, gave to friend on cattle ranch in Carmel Valley,CA where it sat for 20+ yrs until he got it going w/ 54 Chevy 235. My brother in St Louis, MO bought it & drove it for 4 yrs before sending it to me in So Cal last year.

1st problem to solve is its missing the cover on bottom of bell housing - posted request on junkyard search site, got no response. Anyone know what year models
are the same as 53 GMC for bell housing/flywheel cover?

Nice truck, PJ. Welcome to the site. Ask the technical questions in the appropriate forum, try the engine shop.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile
