I have a 1950 chevy 1 ton already but couldnt find any info specifically to canadian versions
Did all the canadian gmc's use chevy motors? when did they switch (if ever) to the pontiac/gmc motors used in US versions?

I have that information for the AD trucks | | | | | Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 6,100 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 6,100 | Hy dirtball, Canadian GMCs that had a comparable Chevrolet model were powered by Chevrolet engines, this went on right up into the sixties, Canadian light duty GMCs never had the V6 engine they were powered by Chevy inline sixes and V8 engines. The larger Canadian GMCs were identical to their American cousins, hope that helps. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2012 Posts: 112 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2012 Posts: 112 | Thanks for the help.. If canadian gmc's used chevy engines are the frames the samexas a chevy also... Do they have the gmc style front crossmember? Will a gmc motor bolt in or is it a swap like when you put a gmc in a chevy?

I have that information for the AD trucks Would the Canadian GMCs being discussed be AD (A-D, Advance Design) or ND (New Design)? | | | | | Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 6,100 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 6,100 | Hy dirtball, the Canadian GMCs that had Chevy engines used frames that were the same as Chevrolet frames in all respects. If you want to install a GMC engine in a Canadian GMC that was originally powered by a Chevrolet, then you will have to make up some type of mount for the front of the engine, hope that helps. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2012 Posts: 112 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2012 Posts: 112 | Thats exactly what i needed to mnow...
