Was the GMC once tractor equipped? That wooden block is how we used to strengthen the frame when we mounted a 5th wheel with U-Bolts.

I don't think it was ever a tractor. I was told by the PO it spent its life sitting in a barn and used as a grain truck.
He said he removed the grain bed. I guessed the block was leftover from mounting the bed with u-bolts.
It shows 44280 miles and the speedo still works.
I will get some better photos of the interior when I get it out in the sunlight. My phone flash quit. It is finished inside except putting the seat in. Seat is newly upholstered, just waiting to finish the doors before putting it in.
