Look to be original or they've been on for a long time. I've been soaking with wd40, with no luck, tried a hammer & screw driver still not budging. maybe some heat or is there a better solution. Thanks in advance.

I use a product called Monolex, but there are many that work well. Even good old liquid wrench or PB Balster etc. Lots of patients, and I still had to drill out a couple of mine, and sometimes a little heat will help get the penetrant to get in and do its job. In the end I had to buy a new frame because I felt it was too far gone. You can't really tell until you get it apart and the glass out. The frames tend to rust and expand both inside and outside. It will crack at the thin edge. Also I was unable to get the internal v bar in the middle out because of rust. You will likely have to replace. My point just break or drill the screws. Plan on replacing the v bar that holds the two halfs together. I think you will find there is plenty of repair to do. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2006 Posts: 98 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2006 Posts: 98 | Thanks, Just ordered some Kroil oil. They have a sale going on 2 king size cans for $14.50 +$5.95 shipping its an "msn offer"

The Sili-Kroil is the same as penttrating oil but has some silicone in it as a lubricant. I keep two or three cans of each on my shelf. Best there is although there is a home remedy that is close! | | |
