My son is smiling while pretending what the steering wheel is going to feel like. I have not had a chance to restore the steering wheel yet. Oh, what the heck...let's install the old steering wheel so we can really get the whole experience. BTW, also put in a test battery and cranked up the stereo for the first time. Sounded great, but I could not get the powered sub to turn on until I realized I never connected the sub power feed to the battery. Doh! But, we were both smiling big. The cab only has a few more things left to complete and then it is on to the box restoration. Maybe 2-3 more months to go.

While everyone was scratching their heads, Im immediately already running toward my truck. While I did have plans on fabricating a new tubular bumper, I wasnt too worried about bending this one http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/...6-4461-BC89-A622A92DB1F2_zpsxvm22ajy.jpg | | | | Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 202 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 202 | I just got back from my winter truck storage place. The engine has been rebuilt with new valves, rings and pistons bored .020 over, new bearings, fuel and oil pumps, gasket set and all the starting tools. What I don't have or can't seem to find are the bolts for the water pump, bell housing, thermostat housing and tranny. Does anyone have a master list of the correct sizes needed for all of the above mentioned mounting bolts and any other bracket, clip or spring to my old girl? | | | | Joined: Feb 2003 Posts: 1,339 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2003 Posts: 1,339 | When I am missing a bunch of bolts I will grab them at a junkyard off a similar vehicle,I am lucky to have two junkyards with old stuff and plenty of motors laying around to grab bolts and other small parts that are usually missing. | | | | Joined: Jul 2013 Posts: 388 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2013 Posts: 388 | Got the Rochester B rebuilt today! | | | | Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 4,983 Master Gabster | Master Gabster Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 4,983 | I have a GM parts book that covers Stove Bolt years but don't know how to use it. I have been debating with myself on whether or not I wanted to paint the SS bumper bolts on my '52 (with painted bumper). I now know I want them painted. Now off to try and manhandle those rivets that come with the gasket kit. Just starting new wire harness and attempting to save the turn signals. For now, it's Miller Time! BTW, I skipped the rivets and went with W/strip adhesive instead, just don't have enough hands. I'm seriously considering using 3-M weatherstrip stuff myself. I've not read anything good about using those rivets. | | | | Joined: Jul 2013 Posts: 388 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2013 Posts: 388 | replaced the driver side rocker panel | | | | Joined: Mar 2011 Posts: 936 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2011 Posts: 936 | Realized my Corvette brake master cylinder (non-boosted) will hit the Patrick's shifter on the Saginaw. Figured out that a '67 Ford Mustang disc/drum MC is narrower and will work, AND that an '87 Dodge D series pickup MC is even narrower and can be set up with two remote reservoirs instead of the modern looking plastic tank it comes with. ...still undecided which to go with tho. | | | | Joined: May 2001 Posts: 7,440 Extreme Gabster | Extreme Gabster Joined: May 2001 Posts: 7,440 | Mrs Cletis and I changed the windshield in the '56 today. Got mine cracked on a trip to K.C. a couple years go. Luckily State Farm replaces glass at no cost. We both did good!! I'll bet June enjoyed helping you. I drove the panel some more today. The 700R4 is not shifting right...or to suit me, so I drive it, adjust, drive it, adjust. Took Victoria to dinner tonight but she didn't know how to jump out, raise hood, move adjustment. Gosh, I got to teach her better However, the shifting is getting better. I'm just sneaking up on it. I already found out you can't be aggressive adjusting it. | | | | Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 4,983 Master Gabster | Master Gabster Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 4,983 | Now that's a memory maker!
