We've got over a foot of snow on the ground and it's snowing again now. I think they're calling for more snow Monday. I know they are calling for a warm-up, but I don't know if it will be enough. If it all melts this week, we will probably be in flood conditions. Let's see what it looks like on Tuesday/Wednesday and go from there.

George, snowing here too, supposed to get another 1-3 last I looked and calling for more tomorrow night. Keeping me busy but sure cant wait for spring.

We got 6 heavy wet inches Thursday night after the 15 or so from the big storm. I couldn't plow it down in front of the shop yesterday, just too heavy. So I spent about an hour on the tractor and got it done.

Sounds like it will be pretty wet and sloppy no matter what next weekend. What ever you decide works for us.

Billy same here. Got to the point we had to switch tactics to be able to move the snow in Waidorf. You should be making good money for the new truck.Hows the plowtruck holding up? I think mines gonna get nominated for the Motor Trend truck of the year for 2014.

Gents,

I'm looking forward to a roadtrip this week. Up here in Philadelphia we are experiencing a fair amount of roofs collapsing. Time to head south !!!!

Of course mud would make this whole journey very interesting......

Went to Frankies yesterday for a recon. Definitely a no go for this weekend. Snow has drifted over 2' between the vehicles and Frankie said there is no way it will be ready by Saturday. I'm sure that WV is even worse. Alternate date of the following weekend is now in effect.

That's how it goes, George.

Well you all have fun -- I have a prior commitment for next weekend. Can one of the SoMD crew take Duwop's bed parts with you?

Oh and none of the guys I had invited (as Rush Chair ...) will be coming, either. I tried to tell them they might actually have *more* fun sans moi ...

Thanks,
John

I'll be late, but will be there; Have a late afternoon gig Friday that can't be moved again.

Will either be there Friday evening or Oh-Dark-Thirty Saturday.

Thanks George!

I cannot make the revised date either. will still be on the way back from KC on Sat.
I may make it to Classic Chevy during my trip and search the aisles for parts...in the comfort of inside.
i need a front sway bar - for starters.

Family calls, will be going north to New York State if the hole in the weather prevails, yes, with the '49.

Have fun you guys, hope to see y'all at the homecoming.

George and Gents,

Hate to be the one to say it, but with John, Mike B, Alec, and now the Pres out, should we be talking about moving the date?

I am still in if it goes a week from now, but thought I'd throw it out there for discussion. Starting with our host, of course.

Thoughts?

I'm in and think Will will join me.
It sure wont be the same without the regulars though. Risk of postponening again is we never find a suitable or good weather weakend.

Let's check the weather this week and see how it goes. They are calling for measurable snow on Wednesday and an arctic front after that. We might need to move it again.

Unfortunatly thats the way the cookie crumbles. We'll do what has to be done. Following your lead George. Grigg is also right and I'm also open to his suggestions. I have enough boots and cold weather gear.

Yea, I saw there is some nasty weather coming just as John is leaving town. Hope that doesn't mean bad weather in NOLA, too! Especially, with the tornado yesterday.

Isn't this a bit early for this kind of weather? (Loving it today tho, eh?)

Yes, Peg, beautiful here too, except for the snow that is still hanging around. Our property is still probably 80% snow cover and some of the piles i made aren't going anywhere soon. I think it got up to about 62 today. I wish this was a sign of things to come but it looks like winter will return by mid-week.

Let's get a count of who can be here for the tour on March 7th and 8th. They are calling for snow this Wednesday and again on Saturday. It's probably not a big deal, but it would be nice to have the normal crew on hand. Sound off.

Actually works better for me as well. It is looking more and more doubtful that this weekend would work because most likely the 860 will be ready for pick up on Saturday.

Thanks George.

So what will it be, this weekend coming up in a few days or the 7th and 8th?

If the weather is good this weekend and if moving it to next weekend doesn't significantly help attendance then I'd vote for this weekend.
If next weekend looks good for weather and attendance then we should do that.

In any case let's decide something so plans can be made and conflicting plans can be dealt with.

7-8 March is definitely out for John as we are hosting the Southern Maryland Christmas Tree Growers meeting here at the farm. We have such a conflict with them every year, we have a good idea that we think will "check all the boxes" for US and THEM for 2015.

You all have fun. Iffin you want to talk about insecticide and herbicides and growth rings and watering techniques (LOL), stop by! Free food! smile

The 7th and 8th it is. Chance of snow today and rain Saturday. Long range forecast looks nice. Hopefully it works out. Individual members can always let me know if they want to come out on their own for a walk in the junkyard. If I'm free, I'm ready to roll.
