good morning to all,
i finally got my 37 burban. this is a era that i love. i have owned a 39, 38 and 37 truck and finally found a 37 burban. i paid a little bit more but heck who else has one around la? be different i say. me and my son put the gas tank on, i got my whitewalls ready and I did notice that the side of the burban has "Highland Bavarian Lodge Aspen Colorado" stamped on there both sides. If this burban could talk i wonder who would have been a passenger in it.

no 2nd and 3rd row seats. looking for those

my son and i did some more work to make this 37 road worthy, we finally got the carb rebuilt put a filter so junk would stop going into it, replaced the gas lines, fuel filter, fuel pump, brake lines, did the 12 volt conversion ran all new wires all the lights, dash and fog lights work, even installed a siren and my son did the primer on it. we drove it around town and that thing is a OX, never even use 1st gear go from 2nd but the power in that tranny is tremendous. below are some pics..

That is a serious Gem. I wish it were mine. The Bavarian was one of the first ski hills in the Aspen area. I believe it is now owned by the Crown family in Chicago - but don't quote me. You could probably sell it to them for a small fortune if they had interest. The Bavarian Highland Lodge was originally formed in 1936 so the dates line up. BTW, the Crown family (if they now own what used to be the Bavarian Lodge) are worth about 7 billion.

3 part series on the lodge from the aspen Times. pretty interesting.

Maybe you could email that reporter and see if they have any photos of your Suburban. In the article they alluded to being related to one of the principles of the operation. It's worth a shot at least.

Very nice. The snow tire pic shows later 4 slot wheels with snow tires out back, and the rather rare-ish 8 slot original 37-38 wheels up front. Great shots. Thanks for sharing.

Hi...nice one to restore..I did one two years ago..and early 36...took 22 months..but was worth it..but now sold to a collector in denver. Gettin rarer as we speak.

i was talking to some "old timers" on how to paint my 37. i listened to them and what a big difference. a $20 paint job if that

here is a pic of how it looks like now, got some skirts from camarillo..cheap too. got me some artilleries online, fender marker, buick fender lights (i like the design), did the upholstery on the front seats (working on last seat)
