Hi there, I am happy to have found this sight. All of 3 days ago I purchased my first vintage truck. It's a 1957 gmc 9434. It's fairly rough around the edges body wise but the motor and tranny seem strong. I can hardly find any information on this truck, and i know even less. I went to bumper to bumper today to try and get some parts for it and they looked at me like I was nuts when I told them the model number. If anyone has any info to help me along it would be greatly appreciated as I am eager to learn about this truck and find the parts I need to get it road worthy.

Welcome. Sounds like the Canadian model. Hope your power train is good. Those guys in the parts stores, ask the older ones. The younger ones just go straight to the computer.

...welcome to the Bolt Squint29. There are GMC guys here as well as Chevy. Post your particular questions in the most appropriate forum for results. Not everyone stops here in the Welcome Centre.

...also, keep watch by visiting daily. There are Bolters from your area so keep watch.....

Vist our links, tech tips section for additional sites and places for parts ect.....

Good luck. We are ALL here to help. Nice catch on the truck.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.

squint, you can add a link to a pic of your truck in your signature line [like others you see here], there aren't any profile pictures for 'regular' members, just the mods have their 'avatars' in their profile

to change things [like signature line] in your profile, click on "My stuff" above and select "Edit Profile"
