I was wondering: when I get these gauges I am going to get them with an oil pressure gauge, a water temperature gauge, and an ammeter. Since my truck has an idiot light for the oil pressure, do I have to get a different oil pressure sending unit, or do I have to get one that will work with a gauge? :confused:

I would suggest mechanical.
Next regarding the Idiot light. If you go to your local ma and pa auto parts and look thru the buyers guide to their ignition line they should be able to select a sending unit for your light that will turn on at your prefered Oil preasure. Meaning the original sending unit may not turn on the light till the preasure drops to say 5 lbs. Well if you want it to turn on at 8 or 10 or higher just look thru there catalogs and I am sure you will find something. However it may be a different size fitting but that is a simple fix.
