I seem to recall one of the Southern Bolters stumbling upon a junk yard (near Orangeburg, SC maybe) at some time last year and saying they were arranging a Saturday trip there to retrieve some parts. I was unable to go, but would like to again know the name and location of said junk yard. Any assistance is appreciated as I am actually doing some work on my '58 Apache frame-off restore here in Raleigh, NC.

Thanks,

John

John, I believe this is the one you're talking about. I had planned to go there but events kept me from it. You may want to PM Jay "Lugnutz" to see if the guy closed it or is still open. I was under the impression the guy was "cleaning up" or "selling out".

Alvin,

That's the one. Thanks!
I'll give them a call to see if they are still open. I have some time on my hands so I might make a road trip. Will post if the place is still open or accessible.

John, have a lot going on here but should you go let me know when and I might be able to link up with you. I'm about 100 miles from there but I could also drop in on my sister who lives in Columbia.

OK Alvin. Did not get a chance to call today, but with some bad weather predicted here the next day or so I might just be able to make that happen and will let you know what I find out.

FYI,

To any of you Stovebolters that may be interested, I just called Branham's and spoke to a gentleman who said his name was Roger. They are still open and he has a few old trucks, '55, '56, and '57. he did not provide any details on how many or how complete they are.

Yes it is. I specifically asked the gentleman I spoke with on the phone and he said he was in Ridgeway, SC. Click on the link Alvin provided in his response to me. Let me know if you are unable to find the link.

John, I sent you a PM. So far about 6 of us are looking at meeting early on the 10th of May and at least walking thru perhaps all three of the yards in Ridgeway.... and still meet up with everyone at the Plaza by noon.
You think you may want to do that?

.... I know, it depends on what Jay, "lugnutz" calls early! I'll have to leave about 6:30 or there abouts!!
