Obviously, a U bolt manufacturer will want you to use new ones every time.

Page 4-64 is in reference to 3/4 to 2 ton trucks, but it is not clear if "replace" means "replace with new U bolts and anchor plates".
Would you also use new anchor plates?
Nonetheless, I have always used new U bolts on my 1/2 ton trucks. Usually, one or more of the bolts would not come off without cutting the bolt.
