The 235 is a easier swap, but the 230/250 is a much better engine.The 3 speed you have may very well bolt up to the bellhousing on the 230. The problem will be the crossmember mounts ( unless you use a 55-65 v8 bellhousing - and I still hade to mill the feet some when we put one in a 46. The side mounts are as simple as speedway/ or a little square tubing and a tape measure. Pick your poison.
Do the clutch pedals and all that bolt to the side of the bellhousing?? I was thinking that somewhere in there that they did.I put one in my46 from years back and my now 51 with a 2004r and would never go back.
If you cant use the tans etc- you will have to go to an open style rear as well. LMD
