Got the new
thermostat in friday and installed it today. I also recieved a later model 4 PSI radiator cap and rigged up an
over flow tank to catch any coolant should it run too hot.
I took two long cruises and the temps climbed up to 180 pretty fast and stayed there. It would run alittle hotter when idleing than cruising but the needle never past the "0" of 180.
I pulled the valve cover after the 1st cruise and there was alittle condensation but it was probably what was still in the engine from before. I adjusted the valves and went on another cruise. There was no condenstaion around the oil fill after the 2nd time.
I'm going to monitor to see if this clears it.
Funny, I didn't set out to make the engine better for the ecology but the pcv valve and overflow tank are definitely "green" friendly
