I'm a little embarrassed to ask this but here goes
this is the new 180 stat. It looks like it has a little check valve built into to it, my guess its to purge air. the 160 thats installed right now has a 1/8 hole drilled into it.
is the side your seeing in the pic the top?
spring side down.
that little check valve thing is throwing me off and I haven't even had any holiday cheer yet!
