The 230 is more modern than the 235 is. Torque was more on the 230 (for some reason) at 220 lb/ft. The 235 got to 215 lb/ft. on the 1959-62 versions. 235 has 4 main bearings, 230 has 7 main bearings.
Of course the 230 is a short stroke engine vs the 235 is a long stroke engine.
