250 is next generation after your stock motor, all different. Good news is that the 230 is same bellhousing as a V8 so easy to find tranys to fit that, motor mount kits are around to fit the side 230 block mounts. Try Chassis Engineering for mounts.
It's easier to get forgiveness than permission!
