Unless you are a purist and don't mind oil all over your carpet, buy an aftermarket electric oil press gauge and sender for your year motor and mount gauge on engine or inside cab. As far as the plastic tubing, it is compression fitted, you tighten with the little collar (ferrule, compression ring) in place and it seals. Hopefully.
