An old trick to increase oil pressure is to run thicker oil (10W40). That's why I asked what the OP used. If he stuck 10W40 in the motor it will be like mud till warmed.
If I run 30 weight in my L134 pressure at idle is < 5psi. If I switch to 10W40 I get 15psi at idle. The gauge shows pressure is 'good' but oil is not flowing as it really needs to.
