i got the engine started this afternoon.. i am happy to say it held 50psi at a cold idle and 35psi after hitting operating temp.. at 2000 rpm it did rise slightly to 55-60 psi.. so i am happy.. i guess i will not use the 30psi original gauge in the dash cluster i will install a 80psi gauge in the clock housing.. it sure is surprising how a stuck relief valve can give me such grief..from now on anytime i have a pan off a used engine i will check the oil pump ..probably will never run into that again, but something like that sure sticks in your mind..ha ha ha ha ..
