my replacement lights had two wires coming out as well...one was the feed for the brake bulb and one was the feed for the tail bulb. A ground screw was inside for you to run a seperate ground wire. I agree with Toyvo in that it is the ground because the light is not grounded by itself. If you pull the lense off you can put your own ground wire in.
