yes, the 3.38 gears would let you go faster at any given RPM, so probably you could go 60-70 with less engine noise, although you could add sound insulation a lot cheaper, and you could find an original 3 speed overdrive [still column shift] to accomplish the same thing, probably also cheaper, the rear gear swap would probably be a minimum of $500, some have spent $1,000
