Denny, I had thoughts along the line of what you mentioned. But I can't grasp that there is that much restriction, for the small amount of air going through it at idle. But what you say makes sense, cause it runs fine till you put the lid on, and the all the air has to go through the filter. Big problem with a simple fix.
