.....after you drive it for a while you'll probably need to readjust the brake shoes....which has always been my experience as they "settle in".
....seems there was always plenty of free travel. As a kid I can still hear the clutch "bang" back as my grandpa would take his foot off the brake pedal. "Wham"!!
