i agree w/ truckernix
that wire from the starter to the amp gauge carries everything. That's why it's not a good way (anymore) to wire a vehicle this way.

The AMP gauge wires should be at least 8-10 gauge depending on what you have to power.
remember: the amp gauge carries everything, as well as the wire leaving the amp gauge.
