I've built a few of them and just got plain sick and tired of trying to knock them out. I have no torch so I just take the hinge to a friend of mine and he heats it till its Cherry Red and then WHACK. A couple licks with the punch and hammer and they're out. Its well worth the time to use the HEAT. Plus, it makes redrilling the holes for the new pins a lot neater and straighter.
No one has mentioned it and maybe I misunderstood but are you trying to do it without taking the hinge out??? IF so, don't try to kid yourself. Take the hinge out and then have at it. | | |
