There should be curent at the bat. term. on the regulator at all times. Mayby you have a loose term.on the back of the gauge or bad amp. gauge.

Instead of saying "why is there a lack of voltage..." I shoulda said something to the effect of "why is there insufficiant voltage...". All it shows is battery voltage even with the field wire grounded.
