Usually, the difference between a 12v and a 6v harness is the gauge of the wire.
6v uses heavier gauged wires (ie, where you use 18awg on 12v, you'd use 16awg on 6v). Either gauge of harness may have hookups for various other things like blinkers, horn relays and whatnot.
