the difference would be any 'extra' circuits in it, like for alternator and accessories - what you want is an original style harness - no extra circuits and designed for a 6V system [which uses some wires heavier gauge than 12V], and a generator - just need to get that from any supplier, and list your '12V' harness in the swap section, saying what extra circuits it has
