well 'top and bottom' was from the assembly manual, but I crawled under the 58 and looked - the arm on the motor is actually nearly straight side to side when it's off, in parked position - in that position, the drivers link goes to the pin towards the drivers side - when the motor turns on, the arm moves so that both links are pulled towards the center - back and forth
the shape of the 2 links is definitely different as they sit under there, tho I can't see well enough to tell what the entire difference is - also there is supposed to be some difference between 5-7 and the 8/9 because they list different motors, but I have never figured out what that is
with both arms being pulled inward at the same time I really don't understand how your shafts could be turning the same direction unless maybe the links are both 'rights' or 'lefts'??
